Remote interpretation of the new national standard GB21340-2019 tempered glass unit product energy consumption regulations
China's national mandatory standard GB21340-2019 was released on October 14, 2019, and will be officially implemented on May 1, 2020. The mandatory standard stipulates the unit energy consumption limit of tempered glass.
The energy consumption quota level of tempered glass unit product is divided into three levels: Level 1, level 2 and level 3, as shown in the following table:

The limit value of one of the levels should not be greater than the corresponding value in the table, of which level 1 has the lowest energy consumption.
In the technical requirements of this standard, it is stipulated that the energy consumption limit of the tempered glass unit product of the existing tempered glass production enterprise should not be greater than level 3 of the energy consumption limit level in Table 3.
In the technical requirements, it is also stipulated that the new or expanded tempered glass production enterprises of tempered glass unit product energy consumption access value should not be greater than the energy consumption limit level 2.
The quota provisions in the mandatory standards issued this time have no small impact on the majority of tempering furnace manufacturers and tempering furnace users.
In terms of domestic tempering furnace manufacturers, due to the differences in the structure and process of various manufacturers, some manufacturers also need to upgrade the structure and process to produce tempering furnaces that can reach the level 2 energy consumption limit.
In terms of tempering furnace users, new and expansion enterprises need to consider whether the equipment can meet the prescribed level 2 energy consumption limit when purchasing equipment. At the same time, the online production of tempering furnaces, due to the service life and structural process and other reasons, the power consumption can not reach the level 3 energy consumption limit level, but also need to consider the transformation and upgrading of the equipment to make it exceed the level 3 energy consumption level.
For the second-hand tempering furnaces widely circulated on the market at present, after the introduction of this mandatory standard, it will greatly impact the previous way of direct installation and use after furnace removal, and promote its change to the way of upgrading and installation and use after furnace removal. This will also increase the amount of capital investment in the current glass tempering production.
In general, the release of the mandatory standard for energy consumption per unit product of tempered glass will have a great impact on the design, production, sales and use of tempered furnaces, and we will wait and see how the industry changes.
