There are several types of glass tempering machine rollers driving, belt driving is one of them. Easy operation and good synchronization is the advantage of belt driving.

By belt drive, there is a lower shaft that connect the driving motor. There are grooved wheel on end of the rollers, and the belts are used to connect the shaft and the grooved wheel. See below picture.

The motor drive the lower shaft, the lower shaft drive the belt, the belt drive the grooved wheel, and the grooved wheel drive the rollers. The motor-draft, and grooved wheel-roller are hard connection which is very reliable.

The belts between the shaft and the grooved wheel, have a shock absorbing function beyond driving connection.

But the belt is not so reliable, that in some case it lost synchronous running with the shaft and wheel. So it is very important to keep the belts not lost. You can compare to below two design.

It is very definite that the 3belts type is much more reliable than only belt. That in case in a second one belt lost connection, there are the other two belts to help the connection.

One thing you should understand, is that if one roller in tempering oven and in quenching chamber not running synchronously with other rollers, it will cause scratches on hot glass.
